RSA: What it’s like to attend the first tech conference after the coronavirus epidemic - The challen

The cybersecurity event's organizers say they're not keeping count of attendees who say they've been hit with the coronavirus. Meanwhile, a growing number of folks have taken to Twitter to post photos and reports of positive test results after attending the conference.

The Global Coordination Mechanism for Research and Development to prevent and respond to epidemics held its first teleconference on the novel coronavirus, as did the Scientific Advisory Group of the research and development (R&D) Blueprint, a global strategy and preparedness plan that allows the rapid activation of research and development activities during epidemics.

On the first day of the security event, organizers sent a message through the conference app, encouraging attendees to knock elbows instead of shake hands. Attendees seemed to be sticking with the traditional greeting, even after this warning. They were packed into standing-room-only sessions throughout the conference center, which was unexpected after AT&T, Verizon and IBM bailed on the conference in the days before the event began on February 24, citing concerns about the coronavirus. RSA runs through February 28. 2ff7e9595c
