adding kindle books to itunes library
I have a Kindle App on my iPad and iPhone. I have been successful borrowing books from the public library and buying books wirelessly to 'My Kindle' account on Amazon. Lately, I have been getting this message on some books while in the process of borrowing or buying the books. Doing some research, it seems one can download wirelessly only to a Kindle and not to a Kindle App. Anyone know of a work-around? Books are more expensive to buy on iTunes than Amazon in most cases.
I have the Kindle App on my Apple devices. When attempting to borrow a book from the library, this is the message I got. This only happens with some books, not all, so I am assuming some publishers have made this decision.
Thanks for all your suggestions, but I don't need help reading or syncing books already downloaded in the Kindle App. I have been very successful WIRELESSLY downloading and syncing hundreds of books from the public library and Amazon, reading them from my iPhone and two iPads using Manage My Kindle on Amazon. But now some publishers are not allowing that, one can only download using USB. THAT is the issue. Here is the message one gets when choosing to borrow or buy a book from these publishers. Apparently the Kindle Device has that ability but Apple devices do not. I can't get these books INTO the Kindle app..... Maybe I am missing something, but don't all your suggestions assume the books have already been downloaded into the Kindle App? I can't get them into the Kindle App, that is my issue.
When you have purchased non-Amazon eBooks from other publishers on your computer, you can import them to your mobile or tablet and read them using the free Kindle app for iOS or Android. For example, you can e-mail books as attachments to your Send-to-Kindle e-mail address ([name]@kindle.com), they will be uploaded to your Kindle Library in the Amazon Cloud automatically. You can also send those books purchased and downloaded from third-party sources to your own email address as attachments, then download these books to the Files app on your iPhone, iPad. After that, select the books in Files app and choose the Share option > Send to Kindle, then import them to the free Kindle reading app on your iPhone or iPad. Send to Kindle program for Windows or Mac is another easy way to send your personal documents, books from PC or Mac to your Kindle, Kindle app or Kindle Library.
Kindle cloud library is the archive of all your books you ever purchased in the Kindle Store or sideloaded. The books are available to download to any of the connected Kindle devices or apps and their content can be synced.
If you plan to add to your Kindle library a lot of third-party files, the Send to Kindle app is the most convenient way. Besides adding many files at once, it lets you select several Kindle devices or apps, as well as archive the documents in your Kindle cloud library.
You can buy electronic audiobooks from Apple and other companies, but what if you already have a bunch of them on CDs that you want to import into your iTunes library? Importing them is easy, but organizing them is another matter.
With iTunes and the new Music app for Mac, audiobooks are dumped into your music library instead of your audiobooks library, and both programs often fail to apply album art to them. But you can correct these problems if you know how.
iTunes and the Music app treat all imported CDs as music CDs. As a result, the imported CDs are given the wrong extension and appear in your Music library instead of your audiobooks library. You can stop here if you're fine with this. Otherwise, you'll need to change the extensions and import the folder for your CDs to the Audiobooks section in iTunes or the Books app on your Catalina Mac.
Before you import the files into the Audiobooks section in iTunes or the Books app on your Catalina Mac, you should remove the entry in your Music library so the audiobook won't show up in both places.
Your audiobook is added to your audiobooks library with the right name, location, and album art all intact. You can now listen to them via your computer and sync them to your mobile device, even your Apple Watch.
If your imported audiobook is in the wrong library, this can be changed. In order to move your imported album into the Audiobooks library, there are a few steps involved in this endeavor: 1) changing the extension for each track; and 2) moving the content to your iTunes Audiobooks folder.

"I feel like I just re-found my love for the library again. This app helps re-connect with these amazing and free resources back inot reading books but also magazines. I know the library is free but I didn't know what an array they have for electronic resources. It is great and helpful."
The move sparked speculation that Amazon may be able to do the same for books, making Kindle e-book copies of physical titles. "It would even be profitable for Amazon.com to pay publishers a subsidy to transition all the books purchased on Amazon.com to Kindle books," said Scott Devitt, an analyst at Morgan Stanley. "Having a digital library that is accessible only on the Kindle platform essentially locks a customer into the Kindle ecosystem forever. If executed, it would possibly be the largest coup in company history," he added.

The Overdrive service is available through your local library, so find that library card you haven't used in years. Each library purchases titles they feel meet the needs of their patrons. So a book available in one city may or may not be available in another. Overdrive patrons check out and return/renew downloadable titles, just like regular print books. For popular titles you may find yourself on a waiting list, also like using your local library.
6. My own The Annotated Common Law (also on Amazon), adding some 200 notes to Holmes's classic book, to decode and demystify it. Translates Latin and Greek but mostly makes it modern, in both the print presentation and in bringing his phrasings up to date. Also defines legal terms and updates legal concepts so even nonlawyers and history buffs would read this with a clear understanding. Most versions of this book are hard to read in content and even in presentation; the digital books had been error-ridden nightmares. Includes my explanatory Foreword. 2ff7e9595c
